Starting Problems on mini

Hi New Cooper with only 7k miles from new has suddenly delevelpoed a starting fault in that the fist time you press the button nothing happens. NO starter motor noise nothing. Shut down car, take key out, put in back in car will ususally start althought can take 3 or 4 goes at it.

We are pushing the clutch in etc and have newver had ant problem like this before. Dealer not sure either.

Anybody got any ideas to cause?
