Just rang the pub. It may be on in April depending on the weather otherwise it will be May. The woman I spoke to reckoned there hadnt been any complaints last year which is not what I had been told previously.

I do hope it's on as usual. There's very little else that has the same atmoshere. I'll probably wait until May though as it could be chaos again if it is wet in April and the cricket pitch is closed.

I was told that is what the complaints were about last year. With the cricket pitch and parking fields closed there was utter chaos. Some villagers were a bit peeved that their drives were being blocked off and the difficulty getting access to the village.

Understandable. Although I wouldn't mind if I lived there. wink

Considering the amount of cash the cricket club/pub/charity etc make each year from this I would have thought it reasonable to expect a couple of marshals to position themselves at each end of the village to turn people back on the odd occassion that the pitch is closed - there always seem to be plenty of them around on a dry sunny evening....

I didnt manage to make any of the 2007 events, but I will try to go this year, so I'm glad its back on. Although, if we're honest they should really have apolice presence to help with the flow of traffic. It will spoil the feel of the event, but make it better and safer for people walking around.

Looking at the weather forecast I would suspect that the fields wont be open for next Tuesday.

We're up for it. A Westie / 2 MG midgets and a CBR600F

A few spots of rain at 2.00 in North Notts but otherwise dry.

If it rains between now and then, will turn round and come back in May.
