My sump has started to leak noticed at the weekend while working on the car.
Present gasket is a black rubber one spoke to clevor trevor this morning and there now not availible.
Will instant gasket be ok?

Don't bother with a gasket, they usually break easily. Just be sure to clean both surfaces of any crap and oil residue and use 'gastite' silicone sealant. Don't be tempted to put too much on as it can end up in the oil pick up pipe.

Cork Gaskets are the only gaskets I have seen available...

The ones you mentioned are standard on the p38 type motors, but these have a very different front cover and sump (cast ally - not pressed tin).

That looks like a different shape to the gasket used on my Griff
