Just go to your local bike shops. Don't buy off the internet unless you have already tried it on to make sure it fits well. Not all helmets will suit the shape of your head.

Go to a bike show (BMF, Ally Pally, NEC show, etc.) and get one there, that way you get to try on all of them and get them about half price.

There aren't any bike shops in Uxbridge. Your best bet is to take a ride out to On-Yer-Bike in Aylesbury...or maybe Hein Gericke in Reading?
If you're after something cheap Lidl in Hayes have some in stock for £30

Agreed.

If Shoei is the one then take a look at this place - www.helmetcity.co.uk - I bought my latest one from them and was £199 instead of £349. Last years model - but that did not bother me. Not sure how good prices are on other makes - but worth a look.

I have had it approx 18 months now, and it was still £329 when I saw at NEC November 2007!

What he said. I got a £250 Suomy for £100 at Le Mans last year. A bike show will alwyas have bargains.

That said, I got my first Shoei from J+S in a great deal with some leathers and gloves, they have good prices.

Infinity motorcycles http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com are doing 15% off all clothing until the end of March, you need to get an email voucher from them.

Might be worth doing if you know exactly what you want and are prepared to buy today or tomorrow, especially if you want an Arai or other premium brand helmet where discounts are not so freely given.
