Does anyone round these parts have an Alfa GTV? Think this is at the top of my to buy list and I wouldn't mind having a poke around in one without wasting a sellers time and test driving one at random. So if anyone could help I'd happily them owe them a pint or other sort of reinbursment for their survices.

With hindsight I probably should have gone to the Northern Italian meet redface

Yep - Northern Italian meet would have been a good bet.

They're cheap now and still a nice looking car. However, as someone who's had two Fiat Coupe 20VTs, I'd recommend a look at these too.

Steve, Sambaman has one for sale. See here. I am sure he wouldn't mind letting you have a poke around if you're shopping for one.

What happened to buying a Skyline then?

Looking for the newer GTV's, although I have had a lok at a few old Alfa's

Just think insurance is going to be too silly for a skyline, but I'm still going to have a look at some quotes though

I used to have one many moons ago... It was my first decent car after a long list of <500 quid snotters.

Have a good poke around any that you fancy buying. Despite what you may be told they are prone to rust, especially underneath. Mine was only a few years old at the time but a mechanic at an Alfa garage in a seaside town in Italy said he had never seen that much rust on a car so young. The car was in for an exhaust so was up on the ramps at the time. Must be all the road salt they use/used in the UK.

Other than that they are lovely cars...
