AFN are taking car home this evening to try and replicate early morning start problem.

Well AFN must have done something first time around... maybe it just gets homesick for where it used to live?

Sorry to hear it. Takes the shine of your new purchase.

That is disgraceful. Assuming the original owner had some kind of tracker unit, was it fitted by an OPC or by A.N.Other. When I called into OPC Silverstone two weeks ago they were sorting out a turbo that kept suffering from a flat battery which was caused by a bad trackering system install. Have you had any license protection armaments installed by A.N.Other?

It goes without saying to push your OPC to ask questions all the way to the factory to get this resolved. Is there a way of contacting the original owner to see if the problem existed before he/she sold it.

pissed off on your behalf.

Nothing touched or installed since I collected.

Is a really Bast*rd - literally makes no sense.

Depensing on sunshine it starts at about 1130 every day.... then no problems at all - even if left for 4/5 hours.

Only overnight. ????

If I park at our house in E Sussex - no start.

If I park at our apt in London - covered & warm. Still no start - any will fail all day as it needs the sun.

Bugger. Standing on Porsche.... they are most confused.

I am driving a very nice E-Class - NOT what I intended.

At least by the time the car works my reg transfer will be done

Buster I'm going to do a post on your behalf over in the 996tt/GT2 section of Rennlist. I'll post here if anyone has any suggestions.

Buster,

Have you tried putting it in the garage overnight....

Instead of the fridge????

sorry couldnt resist, but on a serious note i would be tempted to rescind the contract of sale and get your money back in your pocket at least, tell them when they have sorted it to come and talk to you if they wish to sell it (at a reduced price)

AFN took it home last night - it didn't start initially this morning -

They've completed some tests -

Then it started again - so they want to take it home again this evening.

Feel really pissed that the technician at AFN will have driven it as much as me.

Bast*rd car.

May sound silly, but there's not condensation forming somewhere vital, is there?

It's not actually a motor but the electronic gizmos that start the engine.

I am very technically minded - can you tell

TT safely parked where it should be: Outside my house!

Hopefully all fixed - tomorrow morning will be the test.

Failing that Porsche are putting a new ECU in....

Dare we ask what the OPC thought was causing the problem, or are we just crossing fingers?
