its a standard bosch unit, most motor factors should be able to supply one or an aftermarket equivalent. I got all of the injection parts for the one I had a few years ago this way, a lot cheaper than Volvo!

Hi Mark,
If only that were true, the Bosch unit is no longer available and they are pointing you at Volvo (stock 0) and Mercedes outlets....I agree that they were available and at sensible prices 180ish but at the moment Mercedes are quoting 488 plus and 5 days delivery. I have ordered one from the States. My application is for the TVR Turbo's that my customers run. Many thanks. Adrian@
There is in Volvo world an after market pump conversion that is available....not for me.

Is it the D-Jetronic system? If so, might be worth contacting the VW Type 3 and 4 Club to see if they've know of a supplier?

The early Jaguar XJ-S used the same system too (firing 6 injectors in 2 pulses) but I'm sure their fuel pump would have a much higher capacity.

Thanks G, both the VW and the Jaguar run different fuel pumps to the TVR/Volvo, I have since found that the Mercedes 250/280/300/350 (W108/109/114/116) from '70-76 also run these pumps (Bosch 0580 464 005) an Ebay shop quoted the pump, but now appears to have no stock, which is where I am at the moment. Many thanks Adrian@

have you tried Euro Car Parts or German and Swedish?

alternately there are plenty of after market ones that could be adapted.
as its an external one this shouldn't be too dificult to mount. modern pumps are more compact than old ones.

Hi I have tried pretty much everywhere, Bosch are only supplying Mercedes with the unit, I am looking for the exact unit as the positions of in/out with the pump stuck within the throw of the rear wishbones is critical, I will look for a replacement when I get the body of the next car, then I can change the mounting plate and work it all through. from memory (10 odd years ago) the 1800 has a live axle and the fuel pump is mounted on the floor of the car, theres plenty of room there, a modern pump will be smaller in diameter and will happily fit in the standard bracket with a rubber insulator to take up the slack (foam rubber wrapped around the pump). I had to change my pump twice as the filter on the pick up was missing in the tank, and unavailable then, my tank flushing antics only succeeded in removing the loose stuff and loosening the not so loose! New tanks were either unavailable or obscene money so i cut the top off with a jig saw and scraped about 2KG of crud out of the tank. I gas welded the top back on, melting the solder/braze holding the fuel return/supply /breather pipes. I didn't discover this until i had a tank full of fuel in it! Tank out again, purged (leaded exhaust fumes for half an hour) then resoldered the pipes! I loved that car, it was a wierd mix of antiquity and style. Mine had a full length webasto roof. The wife got it when we divorced frown

Hi Mark, thanks for that....the car I'm using this on is a TVR and the pump is placed between the shell and rear wishbone, I will when I rebuild my next customer Turbo make a conversion kit to take a later pump. Adrian@
