Discussion
Strangely, I only discovered this car at the weekend and my God what a car it looks to be.
I was perusing various sites contemplating buying a nice 328 when I saw some pictures.
Now, I've learnt that only a couple of hundred were built and I've seen prices up to $500K.
I would be very grateful if someone could educate me as to what the likely cost of one would be and whether there are any RHD versions. Plus, whether the boosted engines are reliable etc.
TIA.

Merry Christmas!

It is indeed a nice car. More 308 than 328, if you look at the detail. And I actually prefer the 308 to the 328, the 308 being a purer design. In fact the side profile is the work of genius. 3 strokes is all you need to draw it and identify the car. By comparison, the 360 (and 430) design is trying too hard.

I also prefer the 308 to the 328 but began looking in that direction for a few reasons, which may be flawed:
At 6'2 a 308 seems too small.
308 lacks power to have a real laugh.
328 is younger so better built.
I keep going to look at picking up a dark blue or black 360 but everytime I find myself thinking that I would rather have a more classic fezza, but I know that speed and reliability keep me going back to the 360.

I thought there were a few non-red one's around? I'm pretty sure I've seen pic's of a yellow one, believed to be factory yellow.
some info on car belowas a road car the 288 is definately more useable than the F40, plus you don't have the fuel tank scenario. A good 308 is just as much fun and a bit more chuckable, albeit not as quick. All original 288's were LHD, although some may have been privately converted. Like the F40, a seminal car which will keep appreciating.

They are slow though, and it's no laughing matter.
If there is a sensible way of bringing performance up then I would love to be educated. TIA.

Wonder how much it would cost to twin turbo the 308?
A 2ndhand Nigel Mansel twin turbo setup for the 308 went on Ebay for £500 earlier this year. Obviously there'd be fitting on top of that. Some of the guys in the states have gone for a supercharger. A select few have gone for a V12 transversely mounted in the rear!

the 288 is NOT a 308 with some cosmetics.if you are fortunate to but one of these phenomenal cars, do not molest it by trying any modification.
