Steam on start-up

Hi,

As I`m fairly new to the Sagaris (2 weeks and loving it..) I`ve a question about a little bit of steam I saw this morning.

I started my Sagaris after leaving her outside in the pouring rain (its always left outside..) and noticed a small amount of steam float past the windscreen (came from under the wipers) after about 5 or 10 seconds.

I`ve never had this before (had plenty of steam after she is a little warmer) but this occured within the first 5 seconds.

Anyone know what it was? It must have been steam from the firing off the pistons (I assume damp in somewhere that got hot quick after 5 or 10 seconds)..

Had the car looked over by the local service guy (Torque Flyte) last week who said the engine sounded in excellent shape and couldn`t find anything during my first inspection (apart from my speedo sensor)...

Damp burning off the exhaust manifold I'd guess at.

Yep, I get the same with my T350 if it's been chucking it down. It's just steam - nothing much to worry about. I think it's water that collects on top of the airbox - guess it gets pretty hot V quickly!

I used to get similar on my Chimaera - i'd only start it to reverse it out the garage (30 secs max) to wash it, and then as the water went down the bonnet, it would hiss and steam!!

I also get similar if i get stuck in traffic and it starts raining - and that can be just off the bonnet!

Ahh.. that makes sense, thanks for that information - not sure why I didn`t figure that one out myself
