Hotels in Le Mans town?

Hi

Can anyone give me the contact details for a "good" hotel in Le Mans we will be there for the 24hr Kart race early July but the hotel we stayed in last year is full. It was supposed to be the best in town, and it wasn't all that. We need somewhere in walking(staggering)distance from the centre.

I wouldn't say its the best quality, but it is very close to the centre. I've stayed there before. The carpark is secure and the cafe Leffe and the cafe 1664 are just around the corner.

To my mind the Galaxie (opposite the station) is just fine (not swish, but comfy enough) with direct tram service to the circuit. But there is a lot of work going on at the station so it may not be too peaceful - still you should be p*ss*d enough not to care.

Situated between the station and the town centre and 4 stars is the most you'll find here. Just one snag as far as I can see; the 24 hour carting is 30/31 August, not in July.
