Water in footwell

Evening all

Loving the T350 to date but have noticed that when i have left it out uncovered in the rain that the drivers footwell is very wet. Liquid smells a bit like oil but when you touch it def seems like water as it's far too watery. Also that fact it is easily absorbed has led me to believe it only water that smells like oil due to a dirty floor perhaps.

Anyone else had this problem? I read soemwhere that this could be caused by the door dropping?

how do i fix this?

This used to happen on the passenger side on my old T350. Check the door seals and the windscreen seal as that's where the water will be coming in - I had 2 inches of water in the passenger footwell coming back from Le Mans last year much to the annoyance of my wife . Also, check that the "bungs" under the doors are removed, there are 3 of them on each door IIRC.

AND..adjust the doors. They drop over a period of time so need moving up a bit on the hinges. twice sorted the problem on my Tam.

But note the "twice"; regular attention item.

Is moving the door up easy to do then?

I'm not the world best mechanic shall we say...

By twice I mean at two services! I'm a DIY nightmare.

However, it is supposed to be straight forward - although probably best with two people. Just loosen the large nuts on the hinges slightly, and lift slightly. Tighten, check then adjust again if needed.

God - I've almost talked myself into going out and having a go just for the hell of it!

My T350 leaked by water tracking down the bonnet catch cable,through the bulkhead grommet and the water then dripped though the fuse box andown onto the floor! fixed by siliconing up the hole in the grommet around the cable.simon
