Opinions on Gaz shocks please
Discussion
I'm looking at my options for replacement shocks for my Chim. One garage have offered to fit Gaz for a reasonable sum, but i spoke to another garage who has stopped supplying them due to problems with premature leakage. Looking at previous threads, it sounds like people have been happy with their Gaz shocks, but what's the long term verdict from PHers? The alternative that has been mentioned is Racing Reds, although these are about 50% dearer.
For info - these are to replace my AVOs which have worn out after 4 years of non track use.

If you want something in the Gaz price range, then the Protechs are much better imho.Theres also the new Racing Reds out now,but i know nothing of what theyre like. The best man to ask for unbiased advice is Joo at Track Car Solutions(01246 455544) who will also be able to fill you in on the new Racing Reds

Whats the problem with Gaz shocks? I had them fitted last July and they seem fine to me. Is it a long term issue and so a problem I can expect to happen soon?
Inevitably when you sell 500 kits as Gaz have done for Chims not all kits have behaved like they should but Gaz have always given me a good backup on their two year warranty and the majority of people are more than happy with the Gaz experiance. You will notice only two or three vocal anti Gaz members that chirp up at every opportunity, they may have had a bad experiance but they are in the minority. That said those people who want a monotube shock but baulked at the price will now have Racing Reds as an option and now they are being fitted to cars opinions will be posted before long I have no doubt.

) Nitron rebuild their units so i dont see why the Avo's cant go back to the factory. An indy wont be able to do this, so they are right!
