Speed Cameras on My Sat Nav?

I have heard that it is possible to change your sat nav DVD by copying it, and editing files to make it show speed cameras as POI.

Is this true?

Also is there anywhere you can buy a modifed disc?

It is possible, it is also illegal and quite simply unles you can write code you are wasting your time. Why not go and buy an Origin, Road Angel etc, Better, cheaper and more often updated?

Sorry, but you are talking bks. If you own a copy, there is nothing to stop you amending the POI database.

I own an 08 copy and have dowloaded an 08 BMW copy (same as I own) with the POI database modifided to include the european camera locations.

It is of some use, but you dont get warnings and cant have more than one poi at a time.

Better than nothing, but not as good as a road angel etc. Note there is a new roadangel due out any moment.

Yes, I have this facility in my car - works well albeit there are a few limitations

When I looked into this I found two options.....

(1) Do it yourself which is very technical (for me) but documented in various forums

(2) I purchased some software (www.pimp-my-nav.com) for 40 usd which virtually automates the process - so you can subscribe to PocketGPSWorld, download new camera sites (I do this once a week) and then cut a new DVD Map - very easy, takes about 10 minutes to do.
