WTD : IT Support Consultant

Introduction
An exciting opportunity for a Software Support Consultant in an expanding software house. We are in the final stages of building a new product for the travel industry. The product has been built on an n-tier, distributed architecture using Borland DELPHI, RemObjects and ORACLE.

This is a great opportunity to gain wide experience in ORACLE and how such a database is used in the development of an application. Must have strong SQL knowledge gained from either ORACLE, SQL Server, Sybase or equivalent RDBMS.

Report Development
Proven Database Report development skills preferably ReportBuilder but could be Crystal Reports, R&R ReportWriter etc. Must be able to develop a report from a specification this will include constructing views right through to final report presentation. Knowledge of grouping, banding and sub-report usage is a must as the report set use these extensively.

Software Support
Experience gained in a multi-user environment. Must be a good communicator and able to organize and manage customer issues. This is a client facing role so you should be presentable and confident when attending meetings with clients. Commercial IT Experience.

Need to be able to work under own initiative, relish a varied role and enjoy rising to new challenges. A general knowledge covering Information Technology including

• Confident with Microsoft Windows, Office etc
• Understanding of network principles
• Conversant with the various Microsoft Windows versions including servers.

Company based in Redditch (North Worcestershire) very close to the train and bus station so we are very public transport friendly. If you prefer a car then an on site parking is available.

Skills
SQL, ORACLE PL / SQL (Will consider other RDBMS experience).

You must be willing and able to travel to client sites as and when required (may include occasional overnight stays) so a driving license is desirable for maximum flexibility.
