I unfortunately let my 98 Chimaera battery go dead, it's usually on an optimate but I forgot to connect it up the last time I used the car. It has the standard Meta Systems alarm.

I charged the battery up using a standard 12V charger and everything seemed fine. The car starts fine, the doors lock & unlock using the fob, the immobiliser deactivates when unlocking the doors, etc.

The problem is that when I lock the car using the fob the doors lock ok and the indicators flash as usual but they continue to flash and click indefinately until I unlock the car again.

Is this an alarm reset issue? (ie: disconnect one of the terminals on the battery).

I've had to do that before after a completely flat battery but the symptoms were different.

Disconnect the battery first for 30 seconds and reconnect (negative terminal only). You'll need the fob in your hand as it was arm as soon as you reconnect so you'll need to disarm. That should do it. If not trun ignition to on position and press and hold the fob button for 5 seconds and release. Beyond that give Carl a call.
