In car intercoms - no helmet required?

Hi guys

I have previously (caterham on track) used an intercom system for communicating between driver and passenger.

I would like to buy one for on road communication on longer trips but all the current systems seem to require a helmet to hold the earpiece unlike the ones I used previously that slipped over the ear and could be used alone or with helmets.

Does anyone know if these are still made or even better have one that is surplus to requirements?

You can buy practice sets which are just like ear defenders with speakers in, or buy the helmet kit and build your own.

Surely you can still get the earpiece style 1s, even if you've got to get the set seperatly moulded for you ears?

i picked up an intercom set from aldi when they had bike gear on special offer. about £5

was an earphone with a hook over the ear and a mic on a boom. it was hardwired to a amplifier/battery box which also had an input for a line in.

Got these babies which are probably the ones from Aldi that someone bought all their stock as my local one had none!
