What a fantastic day. A dream come true.

Had a charity event at work today. I had helped to organise bit and bobs over the last few months. Basically, the deal was, people bid for the opportunity to drive some of the worlds fastest cars down the runway at full tilt. Prices were around a starting bid of £750 for a straight drive of the car and up to £1200 to race a jet.

The cars pitched up this morning at 8:30 from a local Prestige car hire firm and they were amazing.

Just a few we had available were:

Aston Martin Vanquish
2 x Lambo
2x Ultima GTR
Koenigsegg
Pigani Zonda
Gumpert Apollo
2x Mustang (1 Roush)
Styker
Bentley turbo
TVR (various)

Loads, loads more too. Pics will follow.

I took the Koenigsegg out as well as the Zonda. Absolutely phenominal.

The Koenigsegg had so much more to give but the runway just wasn't quite enough! Raw low down power and the smoothest of the two. Beautifully finished and a joy to drive.

The Zonda is just rude! Surprisingly easy to drive but so much more violent than the Koenigsegg. I much preferred it. More feel and a lot more smiles. I hit 270 kph before I knew what was going on and my eyes never saw the speedo after that! The acceleration was such that you had to fight the force to change gear. I've never felt power like it and the sound was sexual. 8 hours of running high speed in some of the best cars in the world. Crazy.

Took the GTS out twice as well and it wasn't out of place with many of the cars in terms of speed and sound. Time for new rear tyres after today though, mucho sideways action! She handled beautifully way over 150, I was really pleased and with only one box on the exhaust was one of the loudest there at full throttle. I actually received a few compliments from quite a few people on the condition of her and her ability.

I'll get pics up as soon as I can.

Bit ropey early on. Made the first jet race even harder for the car. Dried up very quickly and was bone dry just after lunch.
