Good watch around 2K?

I'm looking to buy a watch soon and have been looking around for something that looks funky but at the same time not so garish or formal that I can't ware it day-to-day......
I was looking at some hamiltons (x-wind) but the current front runner is:

For £2k there is a LOT of choice, both new and 2nd hand.

I'd highly recommend taking your time and doing loads of research, choosing the watch is a big part of the enjoyment for me!

Your suggestion looks very nice. I personally wouldn't spend £2k on it, but that's prob more down to my badge snobbery than any fault of the watch.

From my personal perspective, I would never ever contemplate buying brand new, even when discounted.
I would give serious consideration to what were originally high value watches currently offered pre-owned, particularly vintage top end quality watches from the pre-melt down of the Swiss watch industry (1973).
Current Omega's, Tags etc use the common lower end quality ETA movements using "space age materials" (plastic to you and me)
Looking at a vintage Omega constellation chronometer movement bares no comparison to the current base movements that have never ever been touched by human hand and are totally souless.
For your 2k, you should be able to get a decent Vacheron, Jaeger LeCoultre,IWC etc etc., and still have considerable change remaining.

As long as you get a fully mechanical watch with no gold or diamonds, you are bound to end up with some thing of taste which will be appreciated far and wide for decades to come.

Agreed - £2k or there abouts gives you loads of choice including Rolex Subs or Sea Dwellers, IWC or Panerai

To the OP - If you can, get yourself down to bond st, london, and have a look at the shops there. You'll see a huge selection as all the big boys are there - you're bound to see something that makes you drool! Just hope it's within budget!! PS - Don't forget to push for a discount!

Yes, the problem so far has been that most things that make me drool are out of budget..... I work in Oxford Circus so I've been looking around. This will be my first automatic so I wanted to get something funky that I can ware everyday.
