BTCC Support races - poor grids

I was just looking at the quali results (shalln't mention any results) and i'm amazed at how small the grids are
Porsche - 11 cars !
Seat - 13 cars
The Clio's have a full grid though
Can't quite see how the can justify having Porsche and Seat on the support bill - Porsche change their car specs almost every year (so no surprise the grids are small)
btw - did you know that the Seat Cupra is faster than the Seat Touring car - apparently they have to add alot of ballast the to cupra to they don't do faster lap times !
I think all of the regular series on the BTCC other than the touring cars seem too expensive for their standing; FRenault, Carrera Cup, Seat Cupra and the Clios. Even the Clio numbers have dropped a lot from the same time last season.
You're right about the Porsche changes every year, surely better for them to freeze the spec for several years and attract a decent grid? Also never thought the Carrera Cup fitted in with the BTCC package very well, it doesn't really have any feeder series.

At over £10,000 a race for the Porsche cup no wonder the grids are small!

As for feeder series, it's more the other way, last years cars turn up in the Porsche Open series.

ks anymore. There are a couple of drivers missing, one of them is doing Euromax at Salbris this weekend.
As for the Seats - £45k for a car, there is never gonna be a full grid!
The Seat Cupra Cup costs the driver £80,000 per season, Clios are bound to be cheaper (excluding crash damage 
) and drivers have gone straight from Clios to BTCC without needing to drive Cupras.
