Garmin 760 Registration Problems

Bought a 760 today from Halfords, Can't register for updates etc on Garmin site.
Registration process is asking for a registration Code which is found in box on yellow sheet of paper (according to Garmin)this is after entering unit code which is ok.
No paper in box, went back to shop we checked all other new boxes no papers
containing any codes in any.

Anybody else found this problem

Nope. All I was asked for when I registered mine was the serial number, which can be found on the unit itself.

Yes, as above.

The number is underneath the unit in the centre and is also on small white sticker with barcode on outside of the box

Bought a Garmin Quest 3 or 4 years ago. This had a yellow piece of paper with a code number on it which is different ot the serial number on the unit.

I assume Garmin do this with all their units as a way of stopping people from updating stolen units?

I had to do that with my StreetPilot3 but it would seem things have changed now with the 760/770 at least. Definitely no piece of paper with a number
