Whilst browsing the classifieds on Classic Driver, I found this LM002. My German isn't even good enough to be called poor, but I guess it doesn't explain why would someone swap out the engine for a Mercedes unit?

Perhaps an attempt at a tree hugging Lambo?

Yeah - that car's been for sale for about the last two years.

Seems it has had the Lambo engine and Gearbox transplanted with a Mercedes V8 and an Auto box.

For me part of the attraction of the LM is lost by the transplant - but I can understand why the guy did it if he was afetr an Auto version.

Price seems very steep though - probably explaining why it's not sold! I think if it was the same price as a regular LM (i.e £50-60k) I would be tempted.

...an LM without a Lamborghini engine and with an auto box...

is this guy a complete gurl or wot?

next he'll be getting some fuel-saving equipment fitted and having it repainted in an eco-worrier shade of sludge.

what a waste of a great car, sad, sad, sad...

Good ol' Babel Fish!:

translated from that German advert...

This world-wide unique LM 002 was converted on special desire of the Vorbesitzerin (world-well-known prominent POP STAR, that drove it 12 years) with the complete technology of a Mercedes 500 E professionally - without consideration at expense! With the pleasant mechanism and the other reliable Mercedes techniques this piece of lover can be driven marvelously. This is the star of each collection and absolute INVESTMENT because of the UNIQUENESS and the prominent Vorbesitzes!!! INSANITY EQUIPMENT!!!

really???

Off to Googlehunt for 'Vorbesitzes' now... maybe get a point of contact that I can send an incendiary deviceto for his further enjoyment...

edited to say that it means 'former owner' or something quite like that... I might send an email to the chap who runs the classic Lamborghini club in Germany, he'll know all about it - Peter der Wulf always does!
