Hi Guys,

Had a new clutch fitted to my Griff a month or so back and just after getting it back my Speedometer started to play up and then gave up all together. Looking in the bible the most likely cause of this is the sensor, so today after a sunny run I've put the car up on ramps to see if I can check the sensor. Only problem is I'll be dammed if I can find it. The bbible says it's located on the differental drive shaft, but which end? I had a good look at both and haven't seen it yet!

Any help much appreciated. Also any tips on what I should do once I find it would also be appreciated.

Cheers.

Look inside the left rear wheel down the drive shaft. Where the drive shaft mates to the diff flange you will see a toothed wheel (like an ABS one) as part of the diff flange. The sensor is on top of this.

If for any reason you have an early car, with a very late reg!!! it will be hidden above the nose of the diff, with the toothed wheel on the prop shaft/ diff flange.
