Front end revision?
Discussion
I wonder if anyone can help? I just wondered if the front end of the griff was revised(the fog lights put behind the grill) at a set date or whether it was just the earlier cars that have the lights exposed? Would a 94 griff 500 have the lights behind the grill or exposed? I only ask as personnally i perfer the look of the later car and one i am interested in doesnt show a picture of the front end.
Thanks in advance.

All Griffith 500's were the later models and had the different (nicer IMO) front end.
There are however a few pre-cats that have a 500 front end too due to previous skirmishes which resulted in the newer 500 style front end being used at repair.

What grille?
There isn't a grille on either 4.x or 500 cars.
the original pre-cat front has a smaller 'mouth', high beam lamps in their own individual recesses, and a very flat profile if you view the car from side on

the later 500 front end has the larger mouth with driving lamps at the outside edges of it and when viewed in profile has a more pointy nose

The later front end also has the bar across the mouth, as clearly shown in the photo, it is more usual to have the number plate fitted to this though so its not normally so obvious.
The only factory-fitted mesh at the front covers the opening underneath the front and is there to protect the radiator from debris.

Do you know, when the OP mentioned grills and lights this car came to my mind aswell, but I thought "no",cant be....
You back on the road yet Ant ?

Pasco made a funny !!!!!
No, the engine and box are back on the chassis , so thats all complete.
The body is primed and flatted so really close to going green again.
Then I am going to pop the body back on and start on the closures.
End of April/Mid May would be good, I have 15 days off mid April, so should see some good progress.
