engine misfire V8S

out today on runwith blackpool tvr cc
started to smell petrol and s started to misfire turned off
checked all over
started v8s again now ok
went for 15 mls did it again

not had chance to look at in detail as raining
any thoughts to problem . got a few ideas myself
but more the better

I'd say there is an intermittent fault in the ignition or fuel injection systems.

Have u overfilled it by any chance and got fuel in the carbon canister in the boot ? (IIRC tho this is more of an intermittent cutting out issue rather than a misfire).

Well it's about all you can say from those symptoms without further investigation, unless you're going to guess things at random and hope you stumble across a fix.

I totally agree.
They are always the worst type of problem even if the car is in front of you.

cleaned stepper, still ran bad
fault i think was dizzy cap
cleaned inside and it now running ok
took it out and got caught in mini snow storm

ploblem found think injectors
1 not working at all
got 1 on order £45
will see after fitting and a good run
