I'm a bit of a fan.
Not over the top and I've yet to see a live race in the flesh (would love to in the near future) but have been a fan I guess since I was a kid.
Just appeals to me, don't know why.

The current nextel series is proving very interesting.

Been a fan for as long as i can remember and that's a long time! Been able to go see it every year for many years and it's the greatest race show on earth week in week out ( Bathurst is a close second ). If you are able to go go you will not be disappointed. Which car do you follow? Me the 88 and it's in the lead At Martinsville at moment.

No. 88 rules.

I'm becoming a fan and it's getting lots of press at the moment with so many single-seater drivers switching to it. I just wish I lived a bit closer to the tracks - 3000miles is a bit of a round-trip.

I love NASCAR.

Sadly I'm tight-fisted and have to put with Ch5 highlights.

New fan right here!

Never really knew much about it (still don't really), but love all forms of racing. My girlfriend got me NASCAR 08 for my PS2 and I started to understand the challenges of 'just diving in a circle'.

I've not seen much coverage on TV though frown

It's definitely in my list of things to go to one day!

Thanks, I don't have sky sports, but I have discovered my flatmate's media-centre PC can get 5 US, was enjoying some NHRA last week. I'll have a browse of the listings and get it to record so I can't miss it.

Another fan here - got into it via the free webcast of the then Busch Series at nascar.com of the race at Montreal and the influxof people like Franchitti and Montoya.

nascar.com has highlights of all the races in their video section, which is useful if you don;t have sky sports.

I'm a fan, been following it since Motors were showing the Busch races, got Setanta last year for the cup races which are now on Sky. I'd like to see either the 18 or the 88 win the championship this year, the way Kyle Busch in particular sets up and drives his racecar is awesome, it's worth tuning in just to see what he'll do next hehe.

We went to the Daytona 500 in 199? (it was the year they filmed Days of Thunder at the 500 - I'm in it!), and we took in all the other speed week NASCAR sanctioned events on in the evenings at the local dirt tracks. We had a ball, and the local fans seems to love our cute British accents!

Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic way to spend a holiday in February - and we got to see a night-time shuttle launch from the Space center too!

I have asked before, but didn't really get an answer. What engines do the Toyotas use as I thought the rules required a production pushrod V8?

TRD got permission to run an engine program specifically for NASCAR, supposedly a GM derivative - the current joke bouncing around the paddock is that the Toyotas are the best Chevys!
