Hi all
Need some help.

At about 90 the passenger window is getting suscked out of the seal.

Does it just need adjusting?

Or are new seals required.

The seals seem very soft and do not support the window much.
I can push the glass out when stationary fairly easy.
Are there better replacements?

On both sides the glass is going up far enough to distort the seal at the bottom rear corner. such that the seal is not engaged there. Almost as if the galss needs to move rearwards slightly.

Steve (still a newbie but passers by keep saying "Great car mate"!)

Do the cerbs have the window height adjuster like the chims?

mine is between the glass and the inside of the door, about 2/3rds way back, its a simple threaded bar with a screw driver slot, wind it OUT to raise the glass height, this may solve your problem.

if the cerbs dont have this, then sorry for wasting your time mate

Cerbs suffer from high speed window pop out due to over pressure i.e. more air in than is let out. Do a search on here there is a modification to relieve cabin pressure by bleeding it into the boot and then out of the car.

I had heard that on early Cerbera's they were sealed too well and that this could happen (don't know if it's true) and the cure was to drill holes in the floor behind the petrol tank area, mine is a lateish one and it has a few large holes there, I believe it is to relive the pressure in the car or something like that.

Working on this myself. It's a combination of issues with older cars. There are official TVR suggestions that I'm working through. It seems the secret is to prevent cabin pressure building up, and if it does, make sure it can escape.

1) Block the hot air intake in the wing and modify the heating system to recirculation.

2) Add vents in base of boot.

3) New design window seals. Apparently this can be a difficult job reqiring repositioning the doors and fitting a new chip in the window controller.

I might have forgotten something.

Thanks guys, seems I'm not alone!

Mine is a 1998 4.5.
I found the previous posting "Drafty Windows"!!
So I will look to vent the cabin somehow.

If you have any photos of mods made that cured problem, they would be much appreciated.

Although I did feel that there was not a lot of through flow venting due to the misting up I have been suffering. I'll look under the rear window to see if there are any vents there.

Now I think about it I tightened down the boot lid as it was a bit loose!
I think this may have been left loose for this very reason?

Jon

Standard plumbing screw up fittings? 22mm?

How low below the car should they sit?
Would an elbow facing backwards help?

B&Q. I cut the elbow off to leave a large flat flange on the bottom. Can't be see from outside unless laying on the ground. Been out in heavy rain but not a drip of water entered.

Brummie had this prob IIRC found that it was actually the door separating, may be worth searching his posts as I think he posted about it
