I was at Triton motorsport on saturday with VxON and managed 393.6 BHP with 317BHP at the wheels with 409 torques. I was a very happy bunny biggrin

Amazed you guys are quoting rolling road figures! Are there no facilites that use the method of removing the wheels and direct coupling here?

Hi

There are quite a few hub dyno's, but they dont tend to be as group run friendly as they tend to take more time to get cars on and off. We use hub dyno's for all our development and testing though.

There are also hub dyno's here that give the most stupidly high figures, so that makes the exercise pointless (one car i know made 630 FW BHP on a DD rolling road, and 632 bhp on a well known hub dyno, at the hubs!(and it was an auto LOL).

Nice numberssmile

Agreed, from what ive seen hub dynos over read by miles, similar to estimated flywheel power on most other dynos.

Odd replies from some! Was just a bit surprised at implication that rolling road figures were apparently accepted by you guys as of course in racing engine dyno and direct coupled power measurements are approved (FIA etc) whereas rolling roads are too inaccurate.

Was not an attempt to open a can of worms having now browsed previous threads (should have done so before so sorry about that!)

People accept high RR figures, and be happy with them.

People dislike low figures, as they then think there is then something wrong with their car.

So you cant win really smile

If you do before and after, same day etc.....and show xxx bhp gain, then you have a valid indication of performance gained.

Otherwise, it is unfortunate that you have to take some figures with a pinch of salt.

Don't worry mate, I made the mistake of saying I had 470rwbhp (just saying what I saw on the screen) and there were cries of foul play. Your figures are no more or less accurate than anyone elses; just be glad of them regardless of what anyone else says.

There are dyno's and there is Vixpy's Dyno.

The only real way to compare is the same dyno on the same day.

Our rolling road day was interesting and comparable as all cars ran the same way.

As Ringram said the only real way of testing is in the real world where my lower powered car beat VXR_Daz by a 10th or so of a second - no doubt helped by the gearbox ratios.
