Hi,

We have a problem with the doors on our chim. They open fine using the buttons on the outside but will not open using the knob inside the car!

Anyone got any ideas what to check? Is there a cable adjuster for the doors?

Thanks!

Do a search for a detailed answer on this one. Been discussed many times. In a nut shell the cable can be adjusted from behind the door lock. Pull back the carpet flap behind the seats.

Is it both doors and does the knob feel loose? If so could just be the grub screw that holds the knob onto its spindle. Right at the bottom is a tiny (2 or 3mm IRC) allen screw - try tightening this first of all.

I have had a look, doesnt seem to be any slack cable at the door mechanisms. It seems like the door knob is jammed and wont turn properly, I tightened the grub screw as the door knob had a little play but it hasnt made any difference. Also there is a metal collar under the door knob that looks like it should be pressed into the box underneath but it is above the box and sort of loose.

Anyone got any diagrams of how the mechanism works. I can see a steel rod coming out of a box under the door knob through the handbrake gaiter is there anything that can get caught in there?
