Trouble is that its deadly serious. This is almost certainly a classic ebay scam.
The scammer finds an inactive account, hacks said account and posts an item they don't have.
You bid on it, win it and send the money off, but you don't get the car.
Alternatively, if you arrange to hand over the cash in person, you get mugged and don't get the car.

Ebay are supposed to be monitoring and stopping these scams, but I see at least one a week.

I was meaning it was appropriate that the guy should post such an obvious scam to finish in the middle of the night on April 1st.

I hope you, as I did, reported the sale to ebay.

I see, sorry, I didn't read it as that! (blonde moment!).

I went through a period of reporting these to ebay and the numerous one on PH classifieds, but TBH, it just seemed futile, as the number of dodgy items/adverts looks to be increasing not decreasing. It would also be nice to get some feedback to say that these scammers had been caught, or even just that the entries had been verified as bogus and removed.

i emailed the seller as i was intrigued and got this response,

Hi,

The 2005 TVR SAGARIS SILVER with only 12.000 miles is still for sale. A great car, never implied in any accident, in excellent condition with full service history. VRM number is EU05FDK. My job put me on the way to ENGLAND and I purchased this car there. Now I have to sell it as I've got back home in GERMANY. The car is here as well. The final price is £ 5000 + shipping to your door(no more than £120). For an accurate shipping cost please include your shipping address in your next email. As you probably noticed, the price is rather low. But since it's a right hand drive car, not even a dealer will offer me a better price here. The fact that it's still UK registered did not help either. I am the registered keeper and there is no outstanding finance on the vehicle. The car is in excellent condition, the bodywork is immaculate, no scratches, dents or hidden defects as well as the interior in excellent non-smoking condition. I will only conclude the transaction through eBay for our own protection. All documents, including V5 log book on your name will be provided along with the car. Please email me soon if you want to move forward and let me know if you need anything else.

Good to hear it's got no dents. Can't stand the sight of all those dented Saggys driving around.

Hello Bade90,

Looks like a typical Nigerian scam reply ! I wonder if he will give you his address to have a look.

I emailed the 'seller' to ask if his answered question to someone else was a typo
and received a message from ebay stating that emails from this ebayer were at best suspect and replies should not be trusted.

Why does the ebay system allow obvious nigerian scams...........

Trust me. I am honest man, not from Nigeria at all.

My Cigaris is clean and honest and none smoking.

The engine does run smooth as is the automatic transmissionings.

It will take even poor quality diesel, as found in Nigeria, not that I would know, as I've not been there.

Buy with confidence!

Regards,

Prince Notascambi.

That ebay seller answer came from Elaine Hughes (kllaney2006@yahoo.co.uk)
Guess 5k is worth the trouble of setting it all up. If it was a bidding item then would have looked much more realistic rather than selling for 5k and using pictures from offords website. did go to the trouble of blacking the licence out which offord didnt. anyways worth a laugh
