Saied's 2nd Kent Hoon - Sun 11/05/2008 - Opinions please!
Discussion
After a highly enjoyable Hoon last Sunday, i'm proposing another for Sunday 11th May 2008.
The start point will be close to a junction of the M25 in Kent, assisting those travelling from London, Essex or Surrey.
I'll aim to have the routesheets and Google overlay map available a week prior to the event.
The route I have in mind this time will head in a more southerly direction to East Sussex before looping back to finish somewhere in NW Kent.
If you're interested, please respond stating whether you'd prefer option A or B. Whatever proves the most popular choice over the next week, i'll run with that and organise it upon that basis.
A 0600 start, early morning Hoon ending up in a cafe for breakfast around 0900.
B 1800 start, evening Hoon ending up in a country pub at twilight around 2030.
cheers
Justin

Car is in the garage but should be ready in time for this hoon
Either time would be fine as long as it is dry
, though I would prefer evening.
Can I suggest we have a few route masters (i.e. those who know the route and can lead other round) leading small packs of 3-5 people to avoid some of us (i.e. me) getting lost? The route masters can be those with a pre-programmed GPS systems or those with a passenger with a route map.

Not sure yet if i'm off but if there's a lot of people going i might just swap my shift with someone.
I would really prefer the 06:00 start, there will certainly be far less traffic on the roads early in the morning, and i prefer driving (especially if we'll have to concentrate as much as we had to last sunday on time parts) when it's light and you can see far away, where in the dark you can't as good.
Defintely up for this.
Personally would prefer Option A for traffic reasons.
Will make sure the alarm clock works this time!
Re quyen's route master suggestion I'm happy to volunteer for this.
Any East Sussex/NW Kent route will be on my home turf.
As long as I have the details beforehand I will be able to memorise it without needing GPS or a passenger.

I'd go for 6am as there will be much less traffic around

So i take it where going for the morning run then ? Should be good fun, empty roads and a nice sunrise.I leave it to Justin to start the actual participants list then, hopefully we'll have some good weather and lots of people showing up this time.

Thanks for the feedback
It looks like the early morning start time is the preferred choice, so i'm happy to run with that. I shall create a new thread very soon for people to sign up to.
What I will say to Dizzee and Quyen is that I too have a real hankling for an evening Hoon sometime. My thoughts are for a meet on a Sunday evening at the end of June when the days are super-long. Couple of hours blasting along quiet roads and ending up in a proper country pub serving good beer, with decent parking and a nice garden. I already have one or two pubs in mind...
