Anyone know why they are setting up mobile electronic signs on the M40?

Both carriageways between Oxford and Wycombe junctions, and on the A404?

They are placing them on those observation lumps off the hard shoulder that plod usually sits on drinking his tea and laughing at passing motorist braking violently.

They are the large electronic one’s about quarter the size of the hopeless permanent structures littering the motorways.

The one’s that usually say something like “spray’ when it rains or “congestion” when you’re in a traffic jam.

Could start another thread here with suggestion messages to put on those usefull things- any suggestions??

Along those lines.

I don't think that traffic is up to the level where they need to add hard shoulder running in that area just yet.

I hope they're not going to say "Queue ahead" - everyone on the M25 complies. Grrrr.
