TVR friendly MOT garage near Harpenden

Can anyone recommend a TVR friendly MOT garage near Harpenden? Not expecting any problems, but want to take it somewhere they understand this type of car if poss.

I always take mine to Malmech and Mannion in WGC and have never had a problem. They understand the difficulties of getting the car on the ramps and are very careful. Book an early test when they're not busy and they'll let you have a poke about under the car on the ramp (as long as you don't interrupt them).

A friend has also used Pan Auto on Grove Road for little bits and pieces on his Wedge. Not sure if they do MoT testing though?

They used to and I believe that they still do.

Thanks everyone. Just waiting to see when i get it back from the bodyshop (having accident damage repaired) - Hopefully before 23rd when MOT expires!

If it does go past the 23rd, book an appointment and drive the car straight from the accident repair place to the MoT place. As long as you have an appointment booked and are on your way to it, you are legal.

Mine passed yesterday with flying colours Just a couple more bits to do and then I'm back on the road for the summer - can't wait

Another vote for Malmech and Mannion. I can't say that their manner on the phone sometimes is exactly "customer friendly" but they are when you visit and quite happy to talk as long as it's not interupting them too much. One of them is ex TWR Volvos etc. They've MOT'd my TVR and ZT260 with no problems what-so-ever. Too many testers fail TVRs due to not testing emissions correctly. M&M were even surprised themselves whent the 450 passed by a mile!

Funny you should say that as I'd noticed them being quite short on the phone. I noticed that one of the chaps there is deaf and if its him that picks up the phone, he could probably come across the wrong way due to missing large chunks of the conversation. My Dad is partially deaf and has the same problem.

Not sure where Harpenden is but what about the TVR Centre in Barnet?

Harpenden is in between St Albans and Luton.

Got MOT done on Wednesday and passed with no problems, but got it done near work in the end as my car had been getting some body work repairs and i was without my car for 2 weeks and only got it back on Monday with MOT running out on Wednesday! - So could only really take it to fit aroung work this week meaning i wasn't near Harpenden in the end!

Got it done by a place near Silverstone in the end that Silverstone Performance use.
