Hot weather SLUG ?

Reading "Derestricters" post I have to say that very hot weather has traditionally brought out the worst
in a car.... you put your foot down & instead of a mean performance machine you feel like you have a SLUG under the hood !! You know what I mean, one day the car leaves you hanging onto the wheel with a F*****G Hell & another day you think some one has sneaked a 1.3D under the bonnet. This has happened with all my previous Porkers/other cars & particularly Turbo's. But do you know the spooky thing, the 996TT has been bloody FLYING during this hot weather (even with the A/C on full blast) either a good sound thrashing over the past few thousand miles has loosened it up nicely & it will TAKE OFF come the cold weather, or Porsche have been really sneaky & played with boost pressure to ensure the car can still cram in enough air even when very hot. Wodayathink, are you still flying or leaving a slime trail.

I imagine that given the Turbos are 'used' to hot running, they have some funky intercoolers anyway, which are helping keep things chilled. So they will suffer alot less than the n/a cars.
That, or the TT is jsut too overpowered from the start and it IS dropping 10% of its power, but you just cant tell given the reservs of torque it has to hand
THO, having said that, mines as slow now as it always is...
tho rich, how can you stand having the windows open in this weather? i always find as soon as I open them i think 2 things
a) shit its warm out there
b) OMG, how noisey is it outside..
Still waiting for my first go in a 996 TT, done a few 993's but never a 6, suppose i will just have to wait till I buy one :|

Must say, for the first time ever tonight, I was trying to decipher those guages either side of the rev counter and was getting worried about the various oil level/pressure/temp readings but it seems that you have to park the car in an underground bomb shelter at precisely 17 degrees C having just idled for exactly 5 minutes following a 31 minute run during which time you need to maintain at least 150 and so on and so forth...
Anyway, all was well which left me with a night time curry run involving yet more highly scientific analysis and reappraisal of the local m-way network's post-rush hours' speed ratings...
I must say, the dilithium crystals seemed as glowing as 'er I remember 'em!
Currently in 'handling appreciation' rather than 'balls out thrappenstein mode' but fear not, I shall revisit my dissatisfaction by the week's end.
Oh yeah and the fact that these new pads sound like a dragon being de-fanged.
