Got some stuff really ground in to the floor mats.
Does anyone use a steam cleaner? Vax do one for just under £100:

It all depends what is ground into your mats. If it's water soluble you may be in with a chance. Machine may be ok for car mats, but wouldn't be trying it on the lounge carpet.

personally i'd get hold of some poorboys apc and a nail brush. dilute the apc down to 4-1 and spray a little onto the effected areas. then work in with the nail brush. pat dry with a cotton cloth. repeat until the marks have gone. should save you a few quid wink
