hello, just wondering if anyone had a good solution to getting the black/brown marks off the back of my car, I have just gone to replace the numberplate and found that there is a lot of well worn on deposits from the exhaust that will now be showing, any tips for getting it off withut removing the paint?

cheers

Claying the paint work would remove them, if your new to claying then i would recommend the Megs kit you can get in Halfords, if you dont fancy that a polish with some thing like Auto Glym Super resin polish would do the job

Zymol HD Clense is good and doesn't remove paint, just the contaminants.

Inlet manifold/carb cleaner spray should remove the sooty deposit, wax after though.

completely agree with this.

had the same effect to remove when detailing a 54 plate impreza the other weekend. this was 2 years worth of exhaust soot. needless to say after claying it all came off a treat.
