Anyone use accumate trickle charger?

How long did it take for the green light to come on?

Connected yesterday afternoon, still on yellow charging light!

Started car this morning and voltage 13.6 on pod screen. Tuscan 2S

Car usually starts first time but over last month or so when left for a week the battery hasn't had quite enough to start and has required very quick boost with jump leads.

Battery is only about a year old.

What do you think?

A couple of times mine kept yellow for a long time. I unplugged it (from both ends), reconnected, and a bit later all green!

Mines taken a day to turn green and the car had been used frequently , so wouldn't worry yet

I use the accumate to trickle charge through the cigarette lighter, it took 48 hours to go green the first time I used it and thereafter takes about 6-8 hours. I was told it charges quicker if connected straight to the battery but thats too much hassle to find out!

Will leave it overnight again and check tomorrow, hopefully it will be green.

If not will try the disconnect technique.

I started to use mine the other day for the first time (plugged into cig lighter) and it didn't move to green for around 48hrs. My Tuscan is parked up in our garage which is locked so I didn't lock/immobilise the car which seems to help as there is less drain on the battery.

your insurance might not pay if it's not locked and alarmed. Mine's also tucked away, but I keep it alarmed.

Oh, it's always locked/immobilised - I just turned it off the other night when first trying to see if it made any difference to the accumate. Good point though.

If you're using it for the first time don't forget these aren't just charging devices but conditioners, which means they will go through a cycle to hopefully get the battery to an optimum charged point.
Just after I got my car I left the lights on resulting in a completely flat battery, once in I plugged an Accumate into the lighter socket and it took over 5 days before the green light came on... 3 years later still using the same battery with no problems even when left for a couple of weeks.

Ha Ha! I asked exactly the same question in a panic on the eve of a holday away from my car! As has been said here, it sometimes takes ages for green, but will happen eventually!
