First of all, apologies if this is in the worng forum but it seemed the closest match with the most activity.

I have a power steering fluid leak on my 944 S2 which I have traced but can't fix right away. In the meantime, if my fluid level gets too low I want to be able to top it up.

The trouble is, I'm aware you're not supposed to mix types of power steering fluid so how do I know what I've got?

It's brown in colour (rusty brown). I didn't realise you could buy brown so maybe it started off life being red, I'm not sure!

Any advice much appreciated,

Matt.

I'm assuming by your post that the top of the reservoir doesn't list the type of PSF you need to use, and that the owner's manual is either missing or doesn't contain this information.

The stuff you're looking for is Pentosin CHF202 (for both power steering & clutch it seems).

It's probably available in non-Pentosin brands, but the CHF202 is what you need (and also CHF11S as one is just a newer version of the other).

Ahh, apologies. I'm posting this at work whilst musing about fixing the leak - checking the obvious slipped from my mind.

Many thanks for the advice!
