Don't know about you, but every so often I feel a need to break up the "problem with this" or "anyone know where I can get that" posts on this here forum with a bit of "god, isn't it bloody marvellous!" flag-waving.
So, yet again, I have to report that despite shelling out the usual cash to keep the S on the road, the way it feels, and makes me feel, is as tip-top, sheer blooming excellent as ever.
Having had to drive it for a week in all weathers, pending repairs to the tin-top, it just shines through how supreme one of these machines can be at getting you places in relative comfort, with the pomp and circumstance of its Sgt Major bellow that tells everyone else to assume close order for some good old-fashioned overtaking.
The other night, while off to the local town in the other car, I cajoled my brother to take it up the road for a blast. When he floored it away a huge grin of satisfaction formed; it, and the dirty little chuckle at how amazingly lucky I am, didn't pass for a good 20 minutes!
To owners: go and stare at it, drive it all you can and grin like a fool at just how lucky you are.
To buyers: the anticipation is worth it, get the money saved and blow it on a gleaming twin-piped metallic mistress.
That is all.

Totally agree.
I go for 3 or 4 weeks at a time where I don't use the car because I'm fixing / cleaning / changing / improving something or other. At the moment, for example, I'm not using it just because there are no covers on the mirror backs so they look horrible!
I've had a couple of times in the past where I've thought I can't be bothered any more, and I've seriously conteplated selling. But then you get it all back together and the second - yes the very second - you hear it start up, all the problems go away. Everything is worth it. Sell it? You must be joking!

Yep I got the Tiv to drive (not fix)... my next big run out - which I cant wait for - is a blast over Hartside and back then over to Dumfries and Galloway, through the Borders above Hawick and back through the Kielder Valley - around 320 miles, done it before will do it again...
this time I'm dragging my mate from Yorkshire around i his Z4M - he promises to leave his traction control off to make it fairer but I guess I'm not going to stretch him. But its not a race I keep telling myself... its a great day out.
Its on the 20th so I'll miss Bolton Abbey cars in the park though...

edited to correct event on 20th - the Lakeland Tour I thought I was missing is on 26th/27th...
this time I'm dragging my mate from Yorkshire around i his Z4M - he promises to leave his traction control off to make it fairer but I guess I'm not going to stretch him. But its not a race I keep telling myself... its a great day out.

I've not been using the S much recently, since the arrival of our son, but on Sunday the weather was so nice I just had to take it for a spin.
Off I trot to the garage.
There it is, all ticked up and shiny.
Stereo in. Sunglasses on. Roof off.

Don't tempt me... I come from that part of the world originally and a flying visit back to Devon via the old A30 quite appeals. Don't think I'd make it back in time for the works do in Chelmsford at 7pm though. You know it makes sense.

Are you sure, Kev? I thought it had been moved to the 20th to avoid clashing with Chatsworth, at least that's what the website says: http://www.tvrcc-southcumbria.co.uk/future-events....As far as I can tell, April goes something like this:
13th - The usual NETVRCC tyre-kick at the Wheatsheaf
20th - The TVR Lakes Run AND Cars in the Park i.e. these events clash
27th - Chatsworth Gathering
