Edition 30 off VW website
Discussion
Yup the Edition 30 is no longer available and will be replaced by the Pirelli Gti. All current orders will be fufilled but no new orders are being taken. Pirelli edition is the same as an ED30 running gear wise but colours are different as is the interior and the alloys.
Standard GTI's and Pirellis will be available brand new from the factory for some time to come.

Its still available till the end of the year or when the stock runs out.
I did mention this in another post in this section and a few users did not believe me saying it would be available end of 2009 when the mk 6 GTI came out.
No you said all GTi's were no longer being produced.I did mention this in another post in this section and a few users did not believe me saying it would be available end of 2009 when the mk 6 GTI came out.

The GTI's will have a discount as they have stopped production so are selling what is left.
They come with free leather upgrade and armrest, i read this in a car mag
The Edition 30 is better but might not have as good discount but they are stopping production soon as well as the mk 6 is due
The Edition 30's have stopped UK sales as a number of owners complained they had exceeded the stated 1500 build. THis is why the Pirelli special is coming here when it was never going to originally. They come with free leather upgrade and armrest, i read this in a car mag

As I stated repeatedly in the other thread you are still able to spec a car to be built at the factory i you order a standard GTi (and now a pirelli) and it WILL be built to your specification. You will recieve from your dealer the build week. GTI's have NOT stopped production.

And i still maintain they are not being built. they have stopped production and when run out will stop selling. so you can probably spec one from the factory but not when they run out.
When the mk 6 comes out you will definately not be able to buy the gti at all.

How can you spec a factory car if they don't build it? You couldn't all you'd be able to get is a stock car. How can they provide you with a build sheet stating the week it will be built if they aren't building them? Are VW pretending to build them and actually just changing stock cars to match customers spec and producing a fake build sheet. Yeah I bet that's it I mean that's not at all dodgy or insanely unlikely is it?

Sorry and your telling me VW are going to be without a flagship Golf in the hot hatch market for nearly 3 years? As if fella! If you want proof just ring your local dealer and ask if you are able to spec a car from the factory and wait to be greated with a yes, even an ED30 if that dealer still has an allocation.
I didn't sign up on here to argue but frankly your mate is wrong. Unlikley a skoda dealer is going to be informed of these things before a VW one. As for Auto Express they're always making stuff up, the car industry thrives on rumour and nonsense.
TTFN,
Nick
and you still go by that the gti will be on sale for another 3 years saying that they will not be without a flagship model for that period?

Yup I stand by that. I didn't say they'll build them for another 3 years but they are always the last model to be dropped not the first. The last MKV's to roll off the production line will be fully specced up GTI's and TDI's. There will then be a short gap when the MKVI goes on sale until the arrival of the MKVI GTi.Sorry and your telling me VW are going to be without a flagship Golf in the hot hatch market for nearly 3 years? As I said in the post you so kindly quoted VW will want to be without a flagship Golf for a s little time as possible to avoid people buying Astras and Foci etc. It makes no business/finacial sense to stop building their most succesful car in years before they need to.
You keep saying your right and I keep saying I'm right but I have told you to ask your local dealer (and not your skoda mate) as they will tell you what I'm telling you. Hell even try VW UK.
