The driver seat in my 94 Chim is broken. When 'locked' in position it will fall back when enough pressure is put on it. This obviously is causing me an issue when I put the foot to the floor!

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Maybe take the seat out (only 4 nuts to undo 2 underneath and 2 at the front inside) and have a look if anythings broken or bent! ive just taken mine out to look at the carpets to be replaced i greased all the nuts bolts and springs gave the seat a thorough clean and now its slides/locks a dream!

I agree with max take the seat out sounds like a worn or broken spring you can then grease the runners at the same time.

HI there

Same happened with mine. The teeth on the ratchet had worn and there was no way of repairing it. Finished up positioning the seat in "my" position and welding it up. Not perfect as the seat only moves back and forth now, but how often do you need it to tilt?

Hasn't caused me any hassle.
