Hello all,

Got my first track day booked for Thursday the 23rd April at Oulton Park - its a novice day costing £199. Just wanted to ask if anyone has been on one of these days. Is there anything i need to do to the car before its tracked? Im getting it serviced next week so hopefully that should sort any niggles with the car. Anyone fancy joining me?

If its wet, youre going to die! angel

Well, as long as you take it easy you should be ok.

Theres a rather nasty hump in Druids to watch out for. Lodge and Deers Leap can be interesting and Avenue and Cascades are just plain scary!

Ps, enjoy it!

after Cascades, heading down Lakeside, towards Island? (the forsters loop of track seen just over the armco?)

Is it with MSV? I did one as my first one on a novice day there and found it excellent. Make sure you book a lesson, it made a massive difference to my driving. enjoy (and watch out at druids)

I didnt book with anyone - just rang Oulton park themselves. I like the fact that its for novices only - ive only ever done one lap of a track - that was the nurbergring in my TVR - never again!

I'm booked on the same event.
It's WEDNESDAY 23RD.
My previous experience, a novice evening with msv at Brands last year, a very civilised and enjoyable event.
Fingers crossed for dry weather as I've heard that Oulton takes a long time to dry in places due to overhanging trees.

laugh Grow a pair FFS

The pic and the vid are races - if it absolutely hacks it down on a track day, stay in the pits and have a cuppa smile

Oulton takes a while to dry through the trees but there are no leaves at the mo' and as long as there's a breeze (which seems likely at the moment!) it'll dry out pretty quick everywhere.

Enjoy it - it makes watching Touring cars etc. more fun when you've driven the track smile
