Advice sought - I dont like my job
Discussion
Been with a telecommunications company for about 11 years now. Started designing RF circuits. Really enjoyed it. As the years have gone by and work outsourced, i have been forced into management.
Work now is teedious and boring, not really a challenge. However, my family and i are really used to the money.
What to do?
I would love to work with classic (mid '80s) cars.

If you're not happy in the job then there's no point in staying.
I used to work in a window factory doing back breaking work for a scratch over minimum wage plus therewere certain people that worked there that I would've ended up punching in the face (Every fatory has one... two faced, ass kissing sh*t stirring know it all!)
The best thing I did was get out

If you want to keep the income level, then you'll need to use your skills. You say you used to enjoy circuit design.
RF circuit design contracting rates are currently good, however if you want regular work then you'll have to have experience in commercial, military and space work and you'll regularly be working away from home.
Otherwise you'll have to take a pay cut.
