Hi guys,

Looks like I'll be needing a couple of new shocks very very soon, so I am thinking of upgrading the whole lot to something better than the originals.

So far I have been recommended the GAZ Gold kit £600, with Powerflex Bushes £270 (includes fitting, and 4 wheel camber/alignment).

I don't feel I need Nitrons as I'm not going to need the ability to adjust them (I don't track the car) and they are quite a bit more expensive.

Whats my best option if not this one?
Does the GAZ Gold deal I've detailed represent good value?

Cheers smile

I've got GAZ on my car and they're good value for money shock, worth speaking to Derek at Absolutely shocks as he sells all makes nd the pro-techs would be worth a look in my opinion.

Or Jools at Trackcar solutions as well.

Bear in mind the better the shock the better the ride quality and body control as you can run a harder spring.

I'm not sure thats true Matt. Any of the reasonable shocks should be able to be valved for stiffer springs. The stiffer springs actually have the dampers doing less work. The common problem is that people run springs to soft and try stiffen the set up by stiffening the dampers - double whammy!

Alts in that range are Joos Protechs, and the lately released Racing Reds..

I didn't understand the OP's point about Nitrons not being suitable because he didn't want to adjust them - all the dampers mentioned are adjustable???

ETA: can't spell...

Oh, Gaz, etc are adjustable just the same way as Nitrons...

Ah right, when I said I wasn't interestsed in adjusting the shocks, I meant that I'm not interesting in changing the settings i.e. between road and track use. As I understand it (and I may well be way off then) that the Nitrons are a fully adjustable setup. But anyway, they are too expensive.

I just want a good setup for road use, with good long lasting, reliable components that will help improve the handling over the originals.
