PH Stickers - Why so expensive?
Discussion
Well, I bought a few of the 9cm smileys - which is about 20p of vinyl. You can buy 1 meter square of white vinyl for around £2.
They stickers are £2.50 each. Thats about £2 profit per sticker if you include the backing paper, time to 'make' the sticker (peeling and backing), or £8 for my £11.98 order!
Not a huge issue, and I suppose the answer is 'we need to make some money'
Edit: I suppose it could be your sticker-supplier over-charging you. In which case, sorry

Yes we do make some profit naturally, but no more than in the Ted days, the aim is to sell stickers to gain advertising/ raise awareness and for PHers to enjoy rather than make ££££. We leave that to regular website advertising!They stickers are £2.50 each. Sorry you feel that way, Sue (PH Shop Manager) drives a hard bargain with suppliers and always does her best- i'm sure she'll use your comment at the next meeting she has with them

I've always thought the stickers were fairly priced..
Depends on volume ordered it could be anything from fair to really rather poor. Back in my graphics days We used to make far more complex stickers for clients to give away FOC that only cost a few pennies each, but if you are only getting a handful at a time...Edited by Davi on Friday 4th April 15:45

The guy I sold my plotter to would probably take on the job if you need a new supplier.
Cheers G - appreciate the speedy response.

Al, your being a cheapskate, I suspect due to Haybarn.
In the past I was always happy to buy ph stuff to help support Ted.
These days...........mmmmmmmm............not *quite* so loved up with things.
Which is a bit of shame.
btw, Sue I think does provide excellent service from the shop.

Is this thread a joke?
I mean really, ffs do you shop at oxfam because you aren't happy with the original shop making a profit?
It get's really tiresome with all the random complaints coming in, the prices haven't changed since ted's days and stickers aside, i've got no complaints with anything i've bought from Sue.

The calculations seems a bit off on your materials though;
£2 per metre @ 60cm wide
= approx. 60 stickers per metre.
= 3.33p per sticker
Add the backing and you might make it to 5p!
Something of that size and complexity will be easy to weed out.
Postage 32p or whatever it is now.
I work for Haymarket, maybe I'll wander round and see them...

What about the cost of the vinyl cutter itself, PC hardware to drive it, software, office space, time to design and print off the stickers etc...They stickers are £2.50 each. I was in McDonalds the other day and I got reminded of this thread. So I shouted at them;
"That's 5p of bun there, no more than what - 10p of meat - and as for the salad, you're taking the mick. And you're McDonalds so you simply MUST be buying in bulk. I mean I can buy in Tescos for 20p each. So sorry, I think £1,29 is overpriced for a burger and I'm not paying it".
That learned them, I can tell you.

Did you also point out the blatant piece of misinformation that is the 'hamburger' when it's supposed to be 100% beef?"That's 5p of bun there, no more than what - 10p of meat - and as for the salad, you're taking the mick.
