100 amp fuse can I move the postion?

Hi when replacing the 100amp fuse which is in between the alternator and starter motor I thought that if I got two longer red leads and replaced them with the originals on the car (one from the starter & one from the alternator) then perhaps I could relocate the fuses holder in a more sensible place, so it could be repaired on the road side with a lot less hassel!

Certainlyis possible. Track-V-Road have a mod that does just that.

They move the fuse so it is mounted above the wheel arch.

Cheers will have a go at that when better weather arrives will give me more of a piece of mind if it was to blow again!, also have some 150amp fuses would you try these or stick to 100amp?

My fuse blew 3 times in 1 year, what a pain in the ass. In the end the fault was traced back to a loose battery connection. Sorted it out and since then no problems at all.

I thought this it may be worth checking the bat. terminals.

I have gotten roadisde changes down to half an hour, but never a pleasant experience.

Having routinely ignored posts on here about sanding the terminals and placing vaseline on the newly inserted fuse now I have actually done this it has been over a year since it last went.

That was my experience.Mine used to eat fuses until I went through every connection and tightened them up-since then it's been two years on one fuse.(Probably go tomorrow now I have said that.)

I've had two fuses go in just over six years, luckily one was while I was at TVR Power! I must get round to carrying a spare and knowing what to do with it!
