Now that summer has arrived, I thought it would be nice to cruise around with the hood up, windows shut and air con keeping me comfortable. Unfortunately, I have mislayed my owners manual, and am not sure how to operate the air con system. Can anyone help?

Blimey! Another one of me??? Perhaps it is my long lost twin seperated at birth...

No, I was (still am?) a thickie. I only aspired to New Road Sec Mod in Harlington, next door to 'Eafrow.

Buick Regal?
Anyway, If you have the two large rotary switches, turn the left one to the left until it clicks and the right one to the middle of its range. The right one just directs the hopefully cool air to the centre ducts.
Check that the solonoid kicks in.

No Jeff. Got no switches like that. Should I turn the fan one on to start with?

Lee
You have a different set of switches.
Yes turn on the fan, set you "directional" to upper vents, then whatever controls your air temp move to coolest position and listen for a click.
Pop bonnet check that the compressor solonoid has operated. If it hasn't it is possible that your coolant gas is low and the low swicth is not passing the ground to op the fan & solonoid.

Done as suggested, but no click. Checked under bonnet. No sign of compressor, or do you mean the pistons? I think they compress something? Would opening the windows help?

Where the hell is West Mon Grammar anyway???
