Pixie (the tvr tuscan) oil temp, before going some!!

HI Boys, I went for a run, and it said get oil temp up to 60 (or was it 80) anyway, I went miles.
After about 30 miles, the temp went up, but not to what it said it should.
Now, is it because maybe im driving too steady(can't think of another word)or what? or how many bloody miles do you have to go till it gets up to temp, not that I mind, but people at home notice im missing,

Good excuse to stay out , the old 'had to do 200miles to warm the oil up' routine.. mine will not get much over 65 in cold weather and prob never get to optimum temp. The main thing is not to abuse your new friend until oil up to say 50 degrees min. Most would say higher but not always practical. Try not to let the engine rev when starting up from cold, i usually let it turn over for few secs before applying v small amount of throttle..(the fast pedal ) Often seen owners rev the bits off their cars on start up and then let the engine warm up..not good.

As R Toy says on a cold day as it was today (actually I drove through 20+ degrees sunshine, sheets of rain and when I stopped for lunch I got snowed on!?!?!) you'll find it hard to get the oil up to and over 65 degrees, especially if you hit the open road straight away and there is lots of airflow.
I personally find it gets to temperature much faster trundling around at 20-30mph, enough revs to keep the oil flowing but not too many to break anything, 2500-3000 max is a pretty common figure people stick to.
whilst we are on the topic (sort of) when the oil is nice and hot (70-80 degrees) and I get stuck and lights or in traffic the oil pressure drops to around 10-15psi. Should I be keeping the revs up a bit or blipping the throttle to make sure enough oil gets to the important bits in the engine? Im sure I've seen it mentioned before, or I might be going nuts.

Must make sure you use the correct oil for your tuscan or the oil will not reach the correct temp.This is all down to the colour of the car its one of those TVR Quirks. All Green colour cars does not matter what shade must only be run on olive oil or virgin olive oil depends on the driver. Yellow is sunflower oil,again all shades of yellow.Dark shades blacks browns only use a high grade nut oil.The only exception,Tuscans owned by the youner lads seem to go for rape seed oil,ive been told its something in their jeans.Hope this helps.
My car gets to 50 degrees in about 5 miles (in this weather). I keep the engine under 2500 revs till 50 degrees and under 3000 revs till 60 degrees. After that I do not really notice but I would say in "normal" road driving the oil temp is between 60 and 70 degrees. It only goes above 70 (I think) if reving it harder on track.
