There has been a new addition to the Badger household this weekend. Ruby is still a bit bouncy at the moment so we will be giving the meet a miss this week.

Well, that was so much better than I was expecting. I thought it was just going to be a pub, and a pub lunch. But they have a proper restaurant, very well presented, and very attentive staff. The pub bit is just fine for our meets, and if folks want to eat, the restaurant will be very handy, they have steak and pasta deals mid-week, as well as the usual Italian restaurant fare. The car park is OK. They have a classic/interesting car meet, on the 1st Tuesday of each month, the landlord tells me that last Tuesday they had 20 cars attend, but in the summer they get upwards of 80 cars. The restaurant is very good, we had an excellent Sunday lunch, one of the best i've had in a long time, but at ordinary pub Sunday lunch prices (apart from my bottle of St Emilion, which I consumed single handed), the restaurant & staff are easily much better than the price level. I reckon this would be perfect for our Christmas dinner at the end of the year.

See you on Tuesday folks, I think you will agree that this is going to be a good venue for 2008.

Probably the nearest place that might have a chippy is Crich, which is a short run back to South Wingfield, and turn right, then a few miles into Crich.

That is if Crich has a chippy?

Sorry for delaying you Warren, I had managed to leave my fleece in the pub - problem was that it had my house keys in it. Kept the Swift in 3rd & 4th following you down the twisty bits. Good journey down the A38 too.
