Dad has wanted one of these for years, and he had the opportunity to buy one, so took it!

It's a 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante bouncebouncebounce
6 litre, 48 valve, V12
450bhp
420 lb/ft
0-60 in 4.5 sec
168mph limited top speed (apparently the fabric roof will shread over this speed)

It's a gorgeous colour, being Celeste Blue with Sandstorm leather and Caspian Blue carpets for the interior.

I've taken a few photos already, after the parents arrived home with it yesterday. Having driven from Cardiff, it is a little dirty, but I'll give her a good clean when the weather's good again! smile

May be one day, I'll be able to bring her along to a PH event.....in my dreams......when I'm about 80!

Love your pictures, especially the family around the car. Its great when people realise their dreams, good luck to your dad. Have recently done the same with a 997 Turbo. Its a great feeling, not every one agrees , a neigbour has thrown a hissy fit, the Police deliberately pulled me for a road side check on tyres and lights and the odd wr sign is forthcoming. Do I give a rats arse biggrin I think the Aston will have a more favorable response its not made by Germans for a start biggrin

Thanks for the comments on the pics, but that's not the family around the car.....it's my friends! hehe

997 Turbo lick
I just don't get some people's reactions to cars.....why do these few people find it necessary to go out of their way to make someone else miserable, purely because of the nice car they drive.
Mum and Dad have actually told me about postive reactions towards the car from people on their way, including a chap in a Bentley Continential GT thumbup

This morning we had a wonderful snow shower. This didn't stop me form giving the AM a clean.
As it brightened up this afternoon, I decided to take a few more snaps.
So here she is in all her clean glory!

Sadly I know he wouldn't. PH isn't his thing sadly. Now come on....I'm sure together, we can think of a believable reason why I should drive this car to a PH meet or show! scratchchin

Really nice car there Darren. Good choice of exterior and interior colours.

Been through any tunnels yet? :drivin: (but then you are in Norfolk!)

Thanks Richard. smile Funnily enough, I found it for him advertised on PH! I liked the colour, so showed Mum and Dad. They liked it and the deal was done biggrin

No tunnels, but Mum said Dad overtook a car before going under a bridge and the sound, followed by a the encho was amazing - and that's a quote from my non-car-minded Mother! hehe

Putting money to one side of the discussion, this is one car that I would seriously contemplate selling my vintage stuff for. Very very beautiful.

Darren, nice to see we all have a mix of ugly and attractive friends smile

Sadly I fall into the first category. If you remember we Hooned together at the North Norfolk meet last year (Red Esprit) would be great to see the car on an event!

I don't know your neck of the woods but near me there is a new tunnel on the Baldock by-pass and a bit further on down the A1 is Hatfield. Nice and long, should be able to go though a few gears if the road is clear!

Failing that you could steal the keys and come on a tunnel run! cloud9
