Gear linkage

I have been thinking of taking up the offer, by one of our members, of having the M400 linkage fitted, but to finally sway me I would love to actually try one first.
So, my question is, are there any of you out there that have this linkage fitted, or own a 400 that are in my area, ( Glos ), and wouldn't mind me just seeing how much better the later/modified linkage is over the standard set-up.

Steve, when my linkage goes back in (mine is the one being used to make the new sets) I am down your was quite often as I used to work in Cheltenham/Gloucester. But it wont be for 3 or 4 week. PM me if you want me to drop you a call when I am next down.

If the 3R demonstrator I drove from Mole Valley was any indication then the money is well and truly spent.
I was put off buying the car because of this (may have been a poorly set-up one).
It wasn't until I drove an M400 that I was sold on ownership.

Had my 3R converted last year by Kerridges and although expensive it was money well spent as I could easily miss gears when making progress and it was a constant irritation when driving.
Now I dont have to 'think' about changing gear any more !

I don't recall my M12 ever missing a gear, even when driving hard. Maybe some M12's are not set-up too well?

Mine used to miss 3rd and 4th every now and then (maybe once or twice an outing) - turned out my linkage needed adjusting during a service. Miles better now. Had a link go again unknowingly and the gear selection agin became a bit more troublesome - fixed again and has been fine since.

Think they just need to be checked over every now and then.

Mine is a real pain to engage first gear, all other gears seem to be fine, I find by engaging second before going into first helps.
Perhaps adjustment would improve, but still interested in a new/modified system.

Thinking about it actually you're right. Mine's not too bad but can be a little insistent on not going in every now and then. Switch to 2nd solves mine too.
